Still Alive and Kicking

Hi Guys!

This is just a short post to let you know I am still alive and kicking and still working on my shabby cottage which I have now nicknamed "the amityville horror". Things just keep coming up that I hadn't expected or planned for in the now defunct budget. I just had to replace all my ac and heating ducts to the tune of $3000 so that really cut into my afore mentioned now nonexistant budget. I am living around ladders, paint cans, tiles needing to be grouted and a polypebble pool deck that keeps kicking up everytime you walk on it. At one point I was going to jump off the roof looking at all the work that still is in front of me. Sometimes it's just more than a body can take....Damn you HGTV!!! It's all your fault. You make it look so easy and do it all in less than an hour!! Side note: If anyone from HGTV is reading this, you have my permission to come over and help!! Holmes on Homes would be nice and where is Genavieve when you need her?? And the guy that ambushes you and does your yard, come on down!!! There's plenty of work for everyone!!

Anyway, I said this would be short. I have a show (the Sarasota Medieval Fair) for the next two weekend and am going crazy making jewelry. I hear my round nose pliers calling me now.

After the fair I will post pictures of my new backsplash and new wood floor in the third bedroom.

Cheers!

Linda

I am so glad to hear you're still plugging away, but not happy to hear that you're having such a difficult time. I can relate. We've done so many projects around our house and dealt with so many problems. BUT, when you do finally conquer it, it is so rewarding. Take a break and do something you enjoy and then tackle it again later.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Deb!

Thanks for being my "fan group"!

This has a longer struggle than I thought and, again, I blame it all on HGTV! They make it look sooo easy and do it all in half an hour!! LOL!!

I am plugging away but it just takes some much plugging!

I'm sorry I haven't posted the pictures for my kitchen, it really came out amazing. You would never believe that there is actually butt ugly formica doors under the paint. I've changed computers and have to keep going back and forth as my pictures are all on my old computer. But I will add that to my list of things to do, just for you Deb, to reward your loyalty!

Thanks so much for following along.
